چکیده
Abstract As a complement to high-cost cooperation as assessed in economic games, the concept of social mindfulness focuses on low-cost acts kindness. While seems quite natural, performed by many most time (reaching level 60–70 percent), what happens if such become more costly, and costs salient? The present research replicates prevalence when are salient, but low. Yet we show that, with small increments costs, vast majority no longer exhibits mindfulness. This holds even keep outcomes for self high comparison beneficiary. We conclude that literature should pay attention cost. Clearly, being socially mindful comes this is not people prepared do. In contrast long low natural normative.

Network Optimization with Concave Costs
In this paper the problem of minimum cost communication network design is considered where the costs are piecewise linear concave. Several methods are compared: Simulated Annealing method, a heuristic based on the method proposed by Minoux, and a lagrangian method based on lower bounding procedure.

متن کاملNormative reputation and the costs of compliance
In this paper, the role of normative reputation in reducing the costs of complying with norms will be explored. In previous simulations (Conte & Castelfranchi 1995), in contrast to a traditional view of norms as means for increasing co-ordination among agents, the effects of normative and non-normative strategies in the control of aggression among agents in a common environment was confronted. ...
متن کاملLess-energy-dense diets of low-income women in California are associated with higher energy-adjusted costs but not with higher daily diet costs.
I have concerns about the relevance of the research and the accuracy of Townsend et al’s conclusion in their recent article (1). The article failed to show the usefulness or policy relevance of an inverse association between energy density and energy costs while promoting the perception that healthier diets cost more, when their own data show that the highest-energy-dense diets (‘‘least healthy...
متن کاملRules and Standards When Compliance Costs Are Private Information
A regulator, seeking to maximize net benefits, must choose between rules and standards and then set a level of care. The regulated agents have private information about their compliance costs. Rules are set ex ante, so agents know the required level of care. Standards are established after agents have taken initial actions, in anticipation of the regulating bureau’s directive. Those actions all...
